March Madness

The dribbling cost of entire lives play the best of the best on our screens. I don’t have time to watch most of the games, but I’m impressed by the effort of those who have nothing to lose except if they lose. The defense is impeccable. And defense is 9 parts effort, 1 part intelligence. Well, it’s probably a little differently composed, but it’s a lot of effort.

How much of our lives is effort? The will to pull through, the desire to press on, it can determine many things. Completing tasks are not always imperative or beneficial, it can be madness. But there is a bit of magic in striving through. I recently marked the completion of another and final review of a book. I had to pull through because it was the first real novel I’ve written and it wasn’t easy.
