Fletcher’s Cove

I saw Fletcher’s Cove in a parenting blog. I’d wanted to visit it since then. But it’s in northwest DC, and I live northeast of DC by a mile. So I pick and choose when I go out that way.

My friend was riding his bike on the C&O Canal Trail and we met him. I parked at Fletcher’s Cove, it was difficult to get to because you have to wait for the light to drive down the one-way street. But it is well worth it. The Potomac River opens wide and calms. The cove is an ideal launching spot for small boats and fishing. I hope to go back soon.
